Chromogenic print I have to say Todd Hido is one of my favorite artists of all time. His work is amazing. His work i can relate to with my life because it seems like he takes his photographs from all diferent areas and neighborhoods in the world, during different seasons and etc., I too have also moved all over the world and some of these photographs gives me a homely feeling like i have seen these places. Also this photograph seems so "real" and scary. The lights contrast the sky and the image is beautifully done. |

The lighting in this photo is really nice with the house lights and the sunset. It kind of reminds me of a scary movie when someone is about to die. haha
ReplyDeleteFor me this photo remind me of my early teens, before i moved to california. I couldn't drive but would go over to my cousins and spend the night. We would find someone to buy us cheap whiskey and cigarettes. Mischievously we would stand outside and drink it down in the snow. I remember the warm, bitting flow of the whiskey as it went down. The world would start to glow like this photo and anything seemed possible. I remember peering thru windows as people lived their normal lives, feeling like a wild spirit intruding on their neighborhood at night.
ReplyDeleteHis work is amazing! I like this series called "home at night," too! He said, he will drive for hours to find a home he wants to photograph. I like the way he feels what home should be like. I feel warm.
